The Rotary Club of Concord was awarded the "Best Club Award" at the District 7910 Conference on May 2, 2009 at the Four Points Hotel in Leominster.  Congratulations to all Concord Rotarians and to President Ron Bott.
On May 2, 2009, members of the Rotary Club of Concord were honored to receive the Best Club Award for 2008-2009 at the District 7910 Conference at the Four Points Hotel in Leominster, MA. The award winner is judged on a point system measured against club goals, and President Ron Bott credits the hard work of the Club's members for reaching the goals that made this recognition a reality. The Club also received an award for the highest net gain in membership throughout the year. At the May 7 meeting of the Concord Rotary, President Bott presented Membership Chair Therese Oliver with the plaque recognizing the outstanding membership gain. The Concord Club last received the Best Club during the Presidency of Henry Dane in 2002. Here are a few notes from our "History." In 2002, received Big Bell - Best Club in the District. In 1957 Fred Boyd became District Governor. The District Conference under Fred was held at the Concord Armory, and it had the largest turnout for a conference in District history: 792 participants. Jack Kennedy, then Senator, was the featured speaker. Charlie Dee got his picture taken shaking hands with Kennedy after the speech. The picture showed mostly women. Peanut Macone was President.
