Elliott Rittenberg, Governor of Rotary District-7910, shared his vision for the 2023-2024 year challenging members of the Rotary Club of Concord to tell the story of Rotary beyond your club and build membership; learn about environmental issues facing our planet and help focus onmental health and the stigma associated with accessing mental health treatment. 
Each year the new District 7910 Governor visits each of the 50 Rotary clubs in the central MA District. It is an opportunity for members to hear about plans for the coming year and to provide feedback to the District Governor. Rittenberg described an ambitious program of activities and events the District will be focusing on and urged Concord Rotarians to get involved .

In March the District Governor will be leading Rotarians on a mangrove restoration project to help plant mangrove trees inGuatemala. This trip is part of a multi-club Rotary International global grant which will help finance planting mangrove trees in areas of Guatemala where development has infringed on their growth. Mangroves collect carbon from the air and are capable of living in harsh
conditions.
Rotary International President Gordon McInally’s theme this year is Create Hope in the World by working toward peace and mental wellbeing. In conjunction with that theme, Rittenberg intends to shed more light on mental health and the symptoms of depression and anxiety that are often overlooked by medically trained health care providers. A Mental Health Action Group has been created at the District level and Rotarians are welcome to join.

The District Governor is creating a District Membership Task Force to assist Rotary Clubs in attracting new members and retaining older members. Sharing ideas that work among other clubs will help clubs struggling with declining membership to rebuild.
