Sean Nigborowicz

 
Sean Nigborwicz has demonstrated a commitment to community service and leadership throughout his high school years. As a dedicated member of the Interact Club, Sean participated in various service projects and community events, furthering his passion for helping others. His involvement with the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) conference highlights his leadership capabilities and dedication to service. Additionally, Sean volunteered as a skating instructor at Sharper Edge Skating School, teaching special needs children how to ice skate. As a lifeguard for Concord Recreation at Whites Pond, Beede Center, and Emerson Pool, Sean ensured the safety and well-being of the community members he served. In addition to his community service, Sean excelled academically and actively participated in various extracurricular activities. He served as a Student Senator and Head Yearbook Editor, demonstrating his leadership skills and ability to manage responsibilities effectively. Sean's athletic pursuits included playing hockey and lacrosse, showcasing his teamwork and dedication. He consistently achieved High Honors throughout high school and earned an Engineering Certificate by completing all required engineering courses, reflecting his strong interest and proficiency in the field. Sean will be attending Fairfield University in the fall and expects to major in engineering. Sean was selected for this scholarship because of his commitment to community service, his participation in The Interact Club and his attendance at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Conference.

Madeline Maione
 

Madeline Maione, now a sophomore at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, is dedicated to her studies in public health with the ultimate goal of becoming a physical therapist. Inspired by her grandfather's  passion for physical therapy, Madeline is committed to pursuing a career where she can make a positive impact on other's lives. During her time at Concord-Carlisle High School (CCHS), Madeline contributed to her community as a counselor at a Bible camp, where she enjoyed teaching younger students about religion. At UMass Madeline also participated in various community service events, including a walk for Alzheimer's,  demonstrating her dedication to giving back and supporting important causes. Madeline was selected for this scholarship because of her continued commitment to community service during her college career.

Shahana Ahmed

 
Shahana Ahmed has a passion for healthcare and service to others. At CCHS, she discovered her love for the brain through courses like psychology, igniting her desire to pursue a career in nursing. Enthusiastic about the prospect of helping people, Shahana aspires to become a traveling nurse, providing care to children around the world. Her dedication to service extends beyond the classroom, as she volunteers at the American Red Cross, local food pantries, and
the Boys and Girls Club. Currently interning at the Boys and Girls Club for her final semester of high school, Shahana is eager to gain hands-on experience and make a difference in her community. Excited about the new opportunities awaiting her at Wheaton College, Shahana looks forward to embracing independence, meeting new people, and trying new experiences. With her sights set on studying nursing and health, she plans to become a nurse practitioner after gaining valuable experience in the field. Shahana's passion for working with children, dedication to volunteerism, and commitment to personal fitness make her a well-rounded individual ready to make a positive impact both on campus and beyond. Shahana was selected for this award because of the depth and diversity of her community service and her commitment to helping others.

Leah Maar

 
Leah Maar, set to attend Wheaton College, has shown a profound commitment to community service and advocacy throughout her high school years. As a dedicated volunteer at Lovelane Special Needs Horseback Riding Program, she supported children with special needs, reflecting her deep compassion for the neuro-diverse community. Leah also participated in Spring Serve with her church, contributing to landscape work and cleanup at historic sites such as Louisa
May Alcott'ss Orchard House. In addition to her community service, Leah worked part-time mucking stalls at Concord-area horse barns and as a doggy daycare assistant, showcasing her strong work ethic and love for animals. Leah's involvement in the arts and leadership roles further highlights her diverse talents and dedication. She was a founding member of a student-run a cappella group and a vocalist for the CCHS Select Choir, which won Gold at the 2023 MICCA concert. She also served as a choir member and production assistant on the Emmy-nominated music video, You Raise Me Up  As Co-president of the CCHS Improv Club and a lead mentor for school theater audience accessibility and ushering services, Leah demonstrated her leadership and passion for inclusive arts. Her academic excellence earned her membership in the National Honor Society and several honors awards. Leah's passion for psychology and brain studies, coupled with her desire to assist the neuro-diverse community, drives her aspiration to eventually pursue a Master's degree and a career in research, aiming to advance humanity through new insights and support for special needs communities. Leah was selected for this award because of the depth and diversity of her community service.
